Learning to ski or snowboard in Park City just got much easier. That’s because Woodward Park City is now open. The 60 acre, state-of-the-art training and learning center on the mountain side of Jeremy Ranch is now open.

Woodward Park City encourages a safe progression and intuitive learning environment for new skiers and snowboarders. What’s more the instructors are also “world class”. For example, my two kids received their first ski lesson at Woodward PC was X-games legend Jamie MoCrazy (Jamie Crane-Mauzy).

The lessons take place just a couple of hundred yards away from Woodward Park City’s main building so you can watch your kids learn to ski or snowboard from the comfort of Woodward’s wifi enabled second floor lounge. You also have the option of dropping off kids seven and older for their two hour lessons (parents are required to stay on site for kids who are less than seven years old).

While Woodward features a full blown chair lift and a couple of runs where skiers and snowboarders can practice freestyle and trick skiing as well traditional downhill, you can expect most first time skiers likely won’t be ready for the ski lift. This is why Woodward has three connected areas for learning. Starting with a gradual side slope area for learning the basics called the “start park” and two larger areas for both skiers and snowboarders called the “progression parks” which are accessible using via a magic carpet.

The standard group lesson at Woodward is two hours and cost less than $100. Woodward also offers private daily lessons and Winter camps that run from three to five days long. Perhaps the best thing about Woodward at Park City is the lessons aren’t  just limited to skiing and snowboarding in the winter. They also offer year round training in multiple disciplines, including Cheer, Trampoline, BMX and Skateboard.
